San
Martin Clean | Reforestation | Clean WaterTrash is unsightly, and can also be
dangerous; broken glass and
other
sharp objects not disposed of properly can end up injuring children
and others. Until recently, there were no public trash cans in San
Martín Chiquito. Xela Aid changed that in July of 2006 with the
installation of the very first trash can in the village, right in
front of the Clinic. It's a sturdy one—made of steel, and cemented
into the ground to last. Help engender a tradition of keeping
trash in its place by sponsoring a trash can, which we're partnering
with local community leaders to install at key locations. Our goal
is 30 across the town by the end of 2007, and the cost is just $30
each.
San Martin CLEAN Sponsors (Last update December 11, 2007)
Xela Aid thanks the following sponsors who have sponsored a trash
can for our "San Martin CLEAN" campaign, a partnership with the
local council of the village who are emptying the cans Our goal is
30 trash cans throughout San Martin, and trash can's can be
sponsored in the name of a recipient through
Xela Aid's Gift
Sponsorship Program. Thank you for helping us keep dangerous and
unsightly waste off the streets and out of the reach of children!
