One-on-one
Spanish tutoring paired with full immersion is such an effective
way to learn Spanish! Quetzaltenango in the highlands of
Guatemala -- or Xela, the hub of Xela Aid operations -- is an
active center of language study and the home of Escuela Juan
Sisay which Xela Aid is proud to have as its language-study
partner. Spanish language study in Guatemala is an outstanding
value.
When you choose to study at Escuela Juan Sisay through Xela
Aid, we make all your reservations for you and, if you are
traveling
on your own to Guatemala, provide you with instructions on how
to reach the school and all the additional information you'll
need to have a fulfilling stay studying in Xela. If you are
traveling to Guatemala with Xela Aid (and providing that a
minimum of two participants wish to study) the school will
provide a language tutor who travels with our work group and
provides one-on-one tutoring to each student in two shifts.
Tuition: Save with Xela Aid While
Supporting Our Important Work
Tuition for language study at Escuela Juan Sisay, including
room and board with a local family and activities:
- $145 each week August 16-May 15
- $155 a week June 1-August 15.
Note: If you wish to enroll in language study as part of a
Xela Aid trip, do not register here, but do so by visiting our
trip page and using our current trip application.
In addition to tuition, a $30 registration fee is paid
through other registration sources.
-- and, rather than funding a commercial enterprise, the fee
is applied to the important work of Xela Aid in Guatemala. You
can register through Xela Aid on this website using PayPal, or
pay by check to Xela Aid (U.S. dollars) through the mail. In
either case, you'll need to print out and mail in an application
form. After we receive your registration fee and application, we
will send an email confirmation of your reservation at the
school, and follow-up information.
